Derek Tullett in Memoria

It is with great sadness that EVIA/LEBA have learnt that Derek Tullett, one of the original founders of the association, passed away peacefully on the morning of 9th January 2022, aged 87.

On behalf of both the members of the association, and the wider market in general, we convey our deepest sympathies to his family and loved ones.

As founder of Tullett and Riley in 1971, a predecessor to the current TP ICAP; Derek was also a founder of the Forex & Currency Deposits Brokers Association the following year when it was formed out of the Foreign Exchange Brokers Association which was then 20 years old. These were the forerunners to the Wholesale Markets and Brokers’ Association (“WMBA”) which itself became EVIA at the end of 2017.

Alongside his business acumen and entrepreneurial instincts, Derek Tullett was always an active and  passionate supporter of industry cooperation and the furthering of best practices and technological adoption in order to make better markets.
